3/13/25

Dollar General (DG) rose 3% on earnings. Earnings actually missed due to impairment charges for store closures and higher costs. Sales rose 4.5% to $10.3 billion ahead of estimates. Guidance was muted as management does not expect any improvement in the macro environment in the short term and their core customers continue to struggle financially, with many only affording essentials due to inflation and economic pressures.

Adobe (ADBE) drops 13% on earnings. The software maker beat by 11 cents as sales rose 10% to $5.71 billion with inline guidance. Continuing a theme, Oracle fell 4% the other day following earnings. On the positive side, Adobe's AI-driven tools like Acrobat AI Assistant, Firefly App, and GenStudio are already adding more than $125 million in ARR, with expectations to double that figure by the end of fiscal 2025.
