Walgreens (WBA) inches closer to going private. The drugstore retail chain is up 7% as a number of bankers are working on funding packages of around $12 billion for Walgreens Boots Alliance to be taken private by Sycamore Partners. Walgreens has been a publicly traded company for nearly 100 years. The stock is still down nearly 50% in the last year and down 75% over the last three years.
Boeing (BA) taking a hit as the country's largest exporter. The tariffs on Mexico, Canada and China take effect today followed by reciprocal tariffs or sanctions by these respective countries. Boeing could face lower orders from China or at the very least, higher costs for the numerous supplies they need to put their planes together.
