Alaska Air (ALK) is jumping 5% following better than expected earnings even though they still reported a loss.  The airline operator of the Boeing plane that suffered a mid-air cabin blowout in January expects demand to remain strong with robust travel demand this summer for both domestic and international travel.

Tiawan Semiconductor is down 4% even as earnings beat expectations. The chip stock returned to sales and earnings growth after four consecutive quarters of declines on a year-over-year basis. The second quarter view was cautious due in part to smartphone seasonality. Barclays kept its overweight rating on Tiawan stock but raised its price target to 150 from 145 a share.
