Diamonds and Dogs

Nordstrom (JWN) sounds good heading into the holiday season. The department store retailer known for having a piano player in their stores is up 8% back near a seven-month high following earnings. Nordstrom easily beat expectations and improved its full-year profit outlook as digital shopping offset a slump in full price product sales. Nordstrom said it doesn't expect tariffs on China-made imports to have a material effect on its fiscal 2020 earnings. Good timing heading into Black Friday and Cber Monday.

Tesla (TSLA) lays an egg. Tesla is down 5% after Elon Musk introduced electronic pickup called the, Cybertruck. The rather ugly angular vehicle, which has a stainless-steel skin, starts at $39,900. Tesla demonstrated the truck's steel exterior with a sledgehammer, showing that it did not dent. However, the second demonstration, of the "Tesla armor glass," didn't go as well as the driver's window shattered after tossing a metallic ball at it. Maybe they should've thrown an egg.
