The retailers fight back. Nordstrom (JWN) is jumping 15% after the company filed a SC 13D related to pursuit of going-private. The family that started the company owns collectively 31% of the outstanding shares. Because of the changing dynamics in the retail environment (i.e. Amazon), the Nordstrom management and the founding family are evaluating whether the long term interests of the retailer are better served as a privately held company.
