The banks and the oil stocks look great, but Fannie Mae (FNMA) and Freddie Mac (FMCC) are stealing the show. Both Fannie and Freddie are jumping over 40% on rumors the new Treasury secretary, Steven Mnuchin in the Trump administration will look to return the government conservatorship companies to private ownership in a timely fashion. Good news for hedge funds and private equity firms that bought up the stocks over the last number of years.
