Maybe the International tensions will ease now that Netflix is available worldwide. Netflix (NFLX) rose 9% today after the CEO mentioned at his keynote session at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas that the company will now be able to reach two-thirds of the world's online population. The only country Netflix is still not available is China. After another ugly day in the markets, heading home to watch something on Netflix sounds nice.

Oil is getting cheaper by the today! Great news for consumers, but not for the oil companies, including our dog, Whiting Petroleum Corp (WLL). Whiting's stock close down 12% to another new low, down 80% from the 52 week high. The tensions between Saudi Arabia and Iran did little to raise prices as oil actually fell 5% today. Unfortunately, no end in sight for the price of oil. It's feeling a lot more like the financial crisis for the oil companies every day.
