PlasmaTech Biopharmaceuticals Inc. (PTBI)

PlasmaTech hit the daily double today, up an astonishing 163.42% to $7.35. The cancer treatment company saw its shares explode after news that hedge fund manager George Soros has taken a 5.17% stake in the company. Soros announced that he purchased 1,166,667 shares of PlasmaTech. The company entered into an exclusive license agreement for a process that extracts and purifies protein-based drugs from human blood plasma, a growing market the company estimates is worth $15 billion. Shares of PlasmaTech rallied nearly $5.00 today, but are still significantly below their 52-week high of $26.00.  

Qualys Inc. (QLYS)

Qualys Inc. is taking a hit today, down 30.70% to $38.17. The cloud security company saw its shares fall after announcing weak outlook. Qualys forecast earnings of between $0.09-0.11 per share on revenue of $39.5-40 million for the second quarter. The consensus estimate calls for earnings of $0.13 per share for the period. Furthermore, RBC Capital lowered its price target on shares of Qualys this morning to $38 from $47 with a sector perform rating. Shares of Qualys slipped nearly $17.00 today but is above its 52-week low of $18.43.
