For the quarter Checkpoint announced an EPS of $0.22 on revenue of $174.5 million; both numbers fell short of analysts' expectations for an EPS of $0.29 on revenue of $174.56 million. Furthermore, Checkpoint Systems also reduced its full-year 2013 outlook, and now expects net revenue in the range of $680 million to $695 million, with earnings per share of $0.40 to $0.50. Geron Corporation (GERN)

Geron Corporation is skyrocketing today, up 44.75% at $5.21. The biopharmaceutical company saw its shares double in early trading (although pulling back since then) due to positive new regarding their trial of imetelstat. In the 18-patient Mayo Clinic study of Geron's imetelstat, 44% experienced clinical improvement, partial remission, or complete remission, triggering plenty of optimism over the drug's blockbuster potential. The positive news help shares of Geron reach a new 52-week high of $7.78 intraday.
