SourceFire Inc. (FIRE)SourceFire crashed and burned today, down 3.76% at $50.43. Shares of SourceFire fell as much as 9 percent after the cyber security software maker said Chief Executive John Burris has taken medical leave of absence. The company, which said on Monday that Burris is being treated for colon cancer, named founder and Chief Technology Officer Martin Roesch interim CEO. "Although the leave of absence is clearly not a positive, we believe SourceFire has an experienced bench that is more than capable of leading the company in Burris' absence," Stifel Nicolas said in a note to clients. As Nicolas said the leave of absence is clearly not positive and the share price of the company is showing it.
Netflix Inc. (NFLX)
Netflix had a good day today up 6.10% at $71.99. The company said customers watched more than 1 billion hours of movies and TV shows online last month, a record for the company. Chief Executive Officer Reed Hastings posted the total on his Facebook page today. The company said in January that viewing in the fourth quarter of 2011 totaled more than 2 billion hours. The Los Gatos, California-based company has been acquiring exclusive content to fend off Amazon.com, Hulu LLC and other streaming services. A spokesman for Netflix wrote, "When 'House of Cards' and 'Arrested Development' debut, we'll blow these records away." The positive information for Netflix has been good for the company today.
